The number of Ukrainians that think the country is on the wrong track is growing, according to a survey conducted by the Socis Center for Social and Political Studies held on September 14-30.
“Nearly a month or two ago, the situation was not assessed so negatively, and about 60% of the people had such an opinion. Now 81.4% have this opinion,” Socis director Mykola Churylov said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Thursday.
A total of 49% of respondents said that stability is what Ukraine needs most of all.
Sixty-five percent of respondents were against the early parliamentary elections and only 13% were in favor of them.
At the same time, 23.1% believed that early presidential elections would resolve the current political crisis while 15% thought the crisis could not be settled without “making changes to the Constitution, weakening the role of the president, increasing the role of parliament, and making the premier the most powerful person in the state.”
A total of 21,000 respondents from all Ukrainian regions and the city of Kyiv participated in the study.
